International business networking and social media

Social networking has changed today’s world in many ways. It makes us be able to stay connected with people we already know, those we should know and those we lost contact with, we follow each others’ activities and share experiences. The introduction of social media has revolutionized the way we communicate and network. Customer and business relations have also changed thanks to the way customers are now able to share experiences, feedback and recommendations in facebook and other similar sites. Social media has become an important part of B2C relations and customer relationship management. Also, in B2B, companies are now able to follow each other more easily and create effective marketing strategies on basis of analyzing competition and their customer relations.

Facebook’s wall, like,  timeline,chat,status updates,messaging features are relevant to social and business networking. On Twitter the messaging, follow, re-tweet, tweet, list, favourite, pages are relevant to social and business networking. Linkedin recently introduced the follow button for companies but Linkedin is more of a professional network where companies find human resources or users look for jobs, companies and professionals participate in groups to learn, discuss, argue, sell etc. These networks cover different aspects of business and social networking. Also, there are sites like Viadeo.com, Xing.com, Ushi.com which are professional networks offering most activities and tools you would use in Linkedin. They are no different except they bring a different kind of audience and feeling to professional networking.

We believe that in the field of business networking there are certain aspects which are being overshadowed by the well know networks. Aspects like conversions of likes on Facebook, the lack of control in groups which turns them noisy and makes every participant struggle to be heard. B2B companies use Facebook advertisement and promote their pages to get likes, but what is the benefit? Or is it that the big social networks have overlooked necessary strategic tools to enable B2B targetting on such networks? We would like to offer those tools to every member of Ziliot and give them access to benefits of social business networks.

Ziliot business discovery network was born out of the fact that business networking could be made simpler, better in terms of targeting the right audience.
